About the Trainer…..
Sara began her professional career working with animals at Prairie View Animal Hospital and has been there for 7 years – as a kennel worker, receptionist, and most recently as a veterinary technician.

Sara has been actively training dogs for roughly the past four years. She started raising and training service and facility dogs with the Quad Cities Canine Assistance Network (QCCAN) and Viking Pups while at college. As a senior member of Viking Pups she had become incredibly familiar with teaching basic and advanced obedience to new dogs as well as new handlers.

After graduating, she initially focused on private one-on-one lessons and has since been working with dogs of all shapes and sizes on basic and advanced obedience as well as behavioral training. She has put her own spin on what she has learned working with Viking Pups and QCCAN, as well as consulting veterinary behaviorists to provide what she thinks is the best training methods for both human and dog counterparts.
Sara’s methods focus mostly on positive reinforcement, while inserting mild corrections when need be, depending on the needs of the dog. Most importantly however she prides herself in treating each dog as an individual and molding her methods to suit each dog and owner’s needs.

Classes Offered
Basic Obedience – Want an overall well behaved pet that you’re proud to show off? Then this class is for you! We will go over basic manners and behavior, how to greet people, loose leash walking, basic commands and so much more – all in a fun and positive environment!
Advanced Obedience – We will build on what we have learned in basic class – adding distractions and learning more complex commands. By the end of this class you should be able to pass the CGC with flying colors! (Available upon interest)?
CGC – This is the AKC CGC test available to all dogs that have passed the Advanced Obedience Class here, or those who have taken an Advanced Class elsewhere. This is a one day test, and should you pass your dog will earn the title of Canine Good Citizen. For more information on the requirements to pass the CGC please visit the AKC website CLICK HERE.

COVID-19 Class Rules:

No more than one person per dog.
No more than 8 participants in class.
We will be strictly enforcing mask policies. Your mask must be covering your nose and mouth the entire time you are in the building. If you choose to not abide by this or must be reminded more than twice you will not be allowed to come to the next class.
Stay on the poly spots you are provided and maintain distances when exiting and entering class. There may be some exercises we unfortunately cannot do due to maintaining safe distances.
